Nobles crap, even if he scores a hat trick. No pace, can't tackle, can't pass etc. Oops sorry, I just switched into fordstar mode there, it's like a bloody virus!

I'm quite surprised at the odds. The bookies have decided firmly we're certainly not going to get an away win.

I know they've got a good home record but aren't they up in arms against the owner and his petulant name-changing tantrums?

An early goal for us would have the crowd on their backs, and if you can't have a good go at Hull away, where can you pick up points?

I expect that dolt to tell the players to 'keep it tight for the first 20 minutes' which of course invites pressure and an almost inevitable Diame goal.

Oh well...

Re: Hull v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I'm not really surprised by the odds. Most bookies and neutrals consider us pretty shit don't they? I don't know many neutral fans who actually rate us at all. In fact I can't think of many positive things anyone has to say about Allardyce or our style of play. It's all bad.

Even though we bought a lot in the summer and some West Ham fans were very happy (I've read this is the strongest squad we've had in years, and I'd probably agree) yet we're still 3/1 to go down with a few bookies and Allardyce isn't far off favourite to get the sack next in the premiership.

if he starts cole then i wont even bother watching. i'll never want us to lose. the people wanting us to as they think it will result in bfs going are a bit odd imho. they wont sack him.

my heart says we'll pull off a shock tonight. my head says, we'll lose 3-0

Re: Hull v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Beating Hull would not be a shock though would it?

We won our last away game, have improved our squad, so we are going into this game with a good chance.

Turning over a top six club at their ground would be a shock but not beating Hull at their place.

He won't Penners, decent looking team tonight and I think most will think it's a good selection. Hopefully the new lads that are in will show some attacking flair.

Re: Hull v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I agree with both Iron and Penners but IF he starts with Song and Valencia and/or Zarate or the player with the cool haircut who's name escapes me at the moment we're basically an unknown quantity.

Kouyate, Nobes and Song pulling the strings and two willing, MOBILE strikers is kind of exciting, potentially and our first choice back four are all available. Downing has shown he knows where the goal is this season too...

So, Nolan and Cole it is then...

Davenport 6:50 Mon Sep 15
Re: Hull v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I backed us to beat Southampton at 9/4 thinking that was a big price.

Cannot trust us tonight

I fear Kouyate or Song might play Centre back, when they should both be in the midfield.

Square pegs, round holes.

I thought that Nolan was still hors de combat with a shoulder injury.

Agree with Davenport

You just know the like of JOB. RVT , Collins and Noble will at in place of the likes of Demel, Valencia, Tomkins and Song

It's his modus operandi the clown in charge, "earn your place"

Evening charlie, evening GENTLEfolk,

chim, I thought you said the football had improved of late so maybe we can allow ourselves a dash of optimism. At least until the teamsheet gets pinned up...
